White Chili

Well, I've started viewing this site for a while (I love the recipes, by the way), but this is my debut recipe. It's actually one from my mom and is sooo good!

1 lb chicken breasts, cut into cubes
1 medium onion chopped
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tblsp. oil
2 - 15 1/2 oz. Great Northern Beans (white beans)
1 - 14 1/2 oz. can chicken broth
2 - 4 oz. cans chopped green chilies
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. cayene pepper
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 cup sour cream
1 cup whipping cream

In large saucepan, saute' chicken, onion, and garlic in oil until chicken is no longer pink. Add beans, broth, chilies and seasonings. Bring to a boil - reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in sour cream and cream. Serve right away. Serves 7. Can easily be doubled or tripled.

I love white chili. Can't wait to try this once the crisp, fall weather hits! Thanks for the contribution! :)
